Experience beautiful music, candlelight, and Holy Communion at Christmas Eve worship at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Join us for worship at one of four services:
4 pm - Contemporary Candlelight Service
6 pm - Contemporary Candlelight Service
8 pm - Traditional Candlelight Service with ASL Interpretation
10 pm - Traditional Candlelight Service

What to expect
Here is some basic information about Christmas Eve worship at Good Shepherd.
For Kids & Families
Kids of any age are invited forward each service to hear a special children’s message.
Free drop-in childcare is available at 6 pm & 8 pm services for kids 5 and under.
Bags of soft toys & a “prayground” are also available at all service.
Holy Communion
We celebrate Communion at all services each week.
Regardless of your faith journey, you are invited to take communion at God’s table during worship.
All people, including children, are invited to take Communion.
Hearing Assistance
Assistive Listening Devices (ALD) are available at all services.
Additionally, our 8 pm worship service provides an American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter.
Location & Parking
We are centrally located in the Kenwood area of Sycamore Township across the street from the Kenwood Towne Centre at 7701 Kenwood Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45236.
Parking is available in our main lot, with overflow parking available in a connected parking lot owned by Trio’s restaurant.
We are also short walk from several Metro Route 4 bus stops.

We recommend arriving about 20-30 minutes before worship.
This gives ample time for the previous service to depart and you enough time to get inside.

Worship services provide some music before worship begins.
Plan to be in the sanctuary 15 minutes before worship begins to hear the music before worship begins.

Yes!
All services are candlelight services.
We also provide small lights - instead of candles - for anyone who doesn’t want to hold a candle.

Only our 6 pm & 8pm Christmas services are live streamed on our Worship Webpage.

While our traditional and contemporary expressions of worship have slightly different orders of worship, they all follow a similar liturgical order of worship that include songs, readings, a sermon, prayers, offering, communion, and sending.
The main difference you’ll notice is the types of instruments and music being shared.

Good Shepherd practices an open invitation to communion. All are welcome to the Lord’s Table, including children.

Yes, grape juice is available as well as gluten-free wafers for those who need them.

Children are embraced in all worship services. Weekly Children’s Messages invite children to the front to hear a message that’s just for them.
We also understand some days you need a little help. We provide Children’s bulletins with activities (available from the ushers) and bags of quiet toys for children to play with in the pews (available on the rack just outside the worship space).
A “Praygound” with games and books is located just outside the worship space designed with comfortable seats and windows & speakers for parents & caregivers to stay connected to worship.
Drop in childcare is available on Sundays free of charge in our staffed Nursery.

Contemporary worship services use the front screen to lead worship, while the Traditional services also provide a bulletin.
Large print bulletins are available for the Contemporary services.
An ASL Interpreter is provided at the 8 pm worship service.
