What to expect from a Sunday service?

The purpose of The Ministry of Worship and Music at Good Shepherd is to meet the need for a wide variety of corporate and individual worship experiences, and to provide opportunities for musical expression to all skill/age levels of the congregation. Good Shepherd places a great emphasis on the quality and variety of its worship and music experiences, always emphasizing the importance of the Word of God.

Holy Communion is celebrated at every service on the First and Third weekends of the month and on all major festivals. All baptized believers in Jesus Christ are welcome to commune. 

We are delighted to work with family and friends of Good Shepherd at key moments in your life. That may include preparing for marriage, baptism into the church, or for a funeral or memorial service. Contact us for more information.

Good Shepherd's Pipe Organ was completed in August 1991. It was built by the Bunn-Minnick Organ Company in Columbus, Ohio. The organ consists of 3 manuals, 45 ranks and 2732 pipes.

Flowers are a way to beautify the worship space and are a wonderful way to celebrate an anniversary, birthday or the memory of a loved one. A flower chart is available in the church lobby. The church is happy to order flowers for you at the cost of $25.00. If you prefer to order your own arrangement, please have them delivered to the church between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Friday. For more information, please contact Debbie Jones. Order forms for Poinsettias and Easter Flowers will be posted on the web about 4 weeks prior to the event.

Greeters use their gifts of hospitality to help welcome people – especially visitors – to the church. A new procedure should help them do that more effectively.

From now on, Greeters are asked to station themselves in the outer lobby at the main entrance doors in order to greet people as they first enter the building. The purpose is threefold:

a) Visitors can be greeted immediately upon entering the church rather than having to find their way to the worship center before being “officially” greeted.

b) After meeting visitors at the main entrance, Greeters may now introduce them to a “Roving Greeter” or other church members who can then show them around the facility or to the worship center.

c) Moving Greeters to the main entrance doors will alleviate some of the congestion and noise at the entrance to the worship center. Of course, ushers will still be available at the entrance to the worship center to assist visitors, as well as members.

the future.
