Bereavement…the very word can conjure up images that are difficult to process. Mourning the loss of a loved one is a time like none other….especially in terms of needing the loving help of others. Good Shepherd’s CFAM Bereavement Team is a wonderful source of such help for our members.
Led by Jan Zinnecker, the Bereavement Team stands at the ready to provide a time for fellowship and remembering which may include a meal or light refreshments. If you have lost a loved one whose funeral will be at Good Shepherd and would like to have a time together with family and other mourners at the church, call Pastor Pat at 891-1700, extension 11 or email her at pbadkey@goodshepherd.com She will contact Jan and set things in motion. Or you can contact Jan Zinnecker directly at 891-1700, ext 27.
Bereavement Team members will confer with the member family as to their wishes. They will secure the food, set up the dining area and serve the meal. Many people ask how much this will cost. Jan Zinnecker will suggest a possible donation from the family based on the number of people and nature of the food requested.
Many times families who have gone through this experience have commented on how comforting it was to have the Bereavement Team handle the food and logistics…a wonderful gesture of Christian caring.
If you are looking for a way to join in the mission of our CFAM helping Teams and this seems like an appropriate fit for your talents and interests, we urge you to contact Pastor Pat at 891-1700 ext 11 and let her know of your willingness to help out. Jan and her Team members can always use an additional “pair of hands”!
